High-level competition
Unlike last year when the Perry Pumas (19-6) were overwhelming favorites, this year is much more open.
While the Pumas still stand as the No. 1 seed heading into the postseason, there are a handful of teams who have a real shot at becoming state champions this year.
One team that is steaming hot heading into the playoffs is the Millennium Tigers (21-4). The Tigers have defeated two top-five-ranked teams in just the last week in Desert Mountain and Notre Dame Prep.

This will be a thrilling bracket between the state’s most dominant teams for the second-annual Open State title. As always, only one team can come out victorious and be claimed as Arizona’s best high school basketball team.
