Desert Mountain Keep It Rolling
The Wolves (11-2) have now won both of their matchups at the Mesa Basketball Challenge, as each came down to the wire.
During Day One of the tournament, Desert Mountain defeated the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups 58-56. Beating an out-of-state team gave them the needed momentum for the rest of the tournament.
The team is coming off a season where they went 27-5 and made it to the semifinal of the open state playoffs, before losing to the Perry Pumas. This further proved that they should be considered an elite team moving forward.
Boulder Creek Falls Short
After getting a blowout victory on Day One of the challenge, the Jaguars fell just short to Desert Mountain.
Boulder Creek is now 10-5 on the season and has lost four of their last seven games. The team is led by junior forward Andrew Bhesania, who is averaging 21.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Bhesania and the rest of the Jaguars will look to get back in winning mode.

Up Next
Boulder Creek next matches up against the 6-2 Gonzaga Prep Bullpups during Day Three of the Vista Mesa Basketball Challenge, as they attempt to finish the tournament with a victory.
Desert Mountain faces off against the 5-5 Capital Christian Cougars of California during Day Three. The Wolves can continue their dominance and stay undefeated during the tournament with a win.
Keep an eye on both teams as they have had strong starts to the new season and will look to make some noise in the open state playoffs.
