To continue the series of outlooking high school baseball teams ahead of the new season, Desert Vista is up next.

The Desert Vista Thunder finished last season with a 20-8-1 record and outscored opponents by a ridiculous 80 runs.
They then faced the Desert Ridge Jaguars in a 6A play-in game to enter the playoffs but fell short 6-3. This was a disappointing ending considering their incredible play throughout the season.
Desert Vista will try to put it behind them and learn from the loss, as they enter a new season where they look to enter the 6A playoffs and make a deep run.
Departures
As with every high school team, the Thunder lost several key players to graduation in May.
This included infielder Xander Ras and shortstop Grant Haas, who were each top-three in hits for the team last season finishing with 32 and 27.
However, Desert Vista has more than enough talent to compensate, including current senior catcher Brendan Burke. Burke led the team in hits with 35 and led the team in RBIs with 28. He was a crucial part of the team’s success last season and will look to continue that as a senior.

Season Outlook
Considering their level of talent and how well they have played, the Thunder should not be slept on heading into the new high school baseball season.
Keep an eye out on Desert Vista and the damage they can do in the 6A.
