GLENDALE – All the focus surrounding the Arizona Cardinals is honed in one third-year wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.’s struggles. One catch in the first two games of the season has every pundit and fan ready to hit the panic button. The pressure on Harrison’s shoulders are more weight than a lot of people will every face in their lifespan, and he’s only 24 years old. That fact has been reminded to him by teammate and wide receiver Kendrick Bourne.
Bourne appeared on Arizona Sports’ Wolf and Luke show on Friday and discussed his message to the young wideout. The 10-year pro has seen plenty of football in his career and experienced all the pain and glory that comes with the sport. The 31-year-old sent a clear message that one’s own failures never defines them.

Bourne on message to Harrison for rest of season:
While Bourne’s two-year, $15 million deal in free agency was greeted with some confusion, his attitude and leadership has shine immensely on and off the field. Despite a disheartening 31-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Bourne remains determine to flush that memory and focus onto Week 3 against his former team. That mindset is only achieved through experience, a challenge for the young Harrison.

The work never stops for Harrison, as Bourne and many coaches have pointed out his work ethic. However, many mistakes made by the former fourth overall pick are mental and signs of exterior turmoil from the noise of others. One could easily drown in the noise, but Bourne persisted in his message to Harrison that you just keep going. Every day and week finds a new opportunity to improve.
Bourne’s positivity is a much needed addition to a franchise that hasn’t much positive accomplishments in the last half decade. The Cardinals are desperate that his message and many more across the team reaches towards Harrison heading into Week 3.
