BREAKING: Quarterback Drew Pyne to Transfer

Arizona State’s second-string Quarterback, Drew Pyne, will enter the transfer portal.

Pyne was one of the only players that Head Coach Kenny Dillingham brought from Oregon when ASU hired him. Drew was expected to come in and start for the Sun Devils immediately, but he lost the starting battle to Freshman Jaden Rashada.

He would get his chance when Rashada would get injured early in the season. Pyne started the game versus USC and played very well, going 21/36 for 221 yards and two touchdowns. However, he sustained an injury in that game that took him out for the rest of the season.

This was an expected transfer as he wanted to go somewhere he could start, and ASU is no longer that place with the emergence of Jaden Rashada. He still has three years of eligibility remaining, so that can provide value to teams. He joins Jordan Clark and Jalin Conyers as players to enter the transfer portal.
