The Arizona Cardinals took on the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon. The Cardinals won the game in thrilling fashion, 25-23. I made a few bets on the game. Here are the results of those bets.

I was wrong about my pick of the Atlanta Falcons winning this game by three points. The national analysis from this game will be mostly about Kyler Murray. Murray looked great but the Cardinals defense was the reason they won the game. Arizona only allowed three points in the second half. Those three points were scored on a short field after a Murray interception. The defense was the reason this bet was unsuccessful.
Under 43.5 Total Points
I was also wrong about this pick. The Cardinals and Falcons combined for 48 points. I still feel good about my reasoning behind this pick. The Cardinals were coming in with a quarterback who hadn’t played in almost a year behind a banged up offensive line. The Falcons’ offense hasn’t been good all year. So I thought the under would be a good pick. The first half is where this pick was put in danger because both offenses were able to drive at will. In the second half both defenses played how I expected them to play the entire game.
Kyler Murray Over 218.5 Passing Yards
I nailed this one! Kyler Murray went 19/32 for 249 yards. Going into this game I figured that the over/under of 218.5 yards was a bit low. The Cardinals came into this game with a make shift offensive line due to injuries. I thought this would affect the run game to a certain extent. Murray had to pass the ball for the Cardinals to move the chains. This led to him going well over the over/under mark.
Kyler Murray Over 23.5 Rushing Yards
I don’t like to brag but I got this one right too. My logic on this pick was that Murray would have to big a few big plays with his feet. That was exactly what happened. There were only a few designed run plays but Murray had to scramble to keep drives alive for the Cardinals. He ran for 33 yards.
Trey McBride Over 43.5 Receiving Yards
This was my best pick of the game. Trey McBride finished the game with eight receptions for 131 yards. McBride not only went over 43.5 receiving yards, he tripled the amount of yards. Going into the game, the Falcons had given up 55 receptions to opposing tight ends. Which was tied for second most in the NFL. This stat screamed at me! McBride with Murray against a defense that struggles against tight ends! He was already over the mark in the first quarter.
