Today, both Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and James Conner made their highly-anticipated returns after being on the injured reserve for an extensive amount of time.

Because of that, Arizona fans were excited to see two of their stars comeback into the lineup as the team is 1-8 on the season.

First Half

Early on, Arizona tight end Trey McBride caught 4 passes from Murray for 62 yards.

At 6:49 in the first quarter, McBride made a 19-yard reception and Cardinals fans praised the rookie.

On-point, Arizona kicker Matt Prater, nailed two field goals from 49 and 51 yards, respectively.

Later, Cardinals wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown bolted past Falcons cornerback Clark Phillips III.

Murray would throw the ball to Brown in the end-zone, but it slipped through Brown’s hands as he dived for the pass at 1:37 in the second quarter.

Tucson native and Falcons running back Bijon Robison rushed for two touchdowns and gave Atlanta a 14-6 lead.

As the second quarter wore on, Arizona received multiple fouls and penalties that gave Atlanta chances to score.

Not getting calls going their way, Cards fans were becoming irate with the officiating.

In his first game back, Murray scored his first touchdown in his 2023 season debut.

On 3rd & 1 at the Atlanta 6-yard line, Murray slithered his way into the end-zone after evading two Atlanta defenders.

Instantly, the Cardinals went for a 2-point conversion, but were unsuccessful and remained down 14-12 with 0:10 remaining in the half.

Still, the Cards faithful were happy to see their No. 1 quarterback back.

Second Half

Soon, Prater powered a 56-yard field goal between the uprights to give the Cardinals the lead 15-14 at 9:16 in the third quarter.

Following, some fans were questioning where the team would be without Prater as their kicker.

But, the majority of the “Bird Gang” celebrated and praised the 39-year old after scoring 9 of their points after that moment.

Furthermore, Murray threw an interception right at Falcons linebacker Nate Landman on 1st and 10 at the ARZ 39.

Quickly, the Cardinals forced the Falcons to kick on fourth down before Younghoe Koo converted to hand the Falcons a 17-15 advantage.

However, it didn’t last long.

After a punt, Arizona wide receiver/punt returner Greg Dortch ran for 49 yards to the ATL 21.

Edging closer to scoring, rookie quarterback Clayton Tune checked into the game and was pushed by other teammates to score a touchdown as the Cardinals went up 22-17 with 0:19 remaining in the third quarter.

Not much offense occurred in the final quarter until Atlanta quarterback Desmond Ridder produced a 9-yard run that he would give his team a 23-22 lead with 2:33 remaining.

Desperately, Murray scrambled and ended up dashing for 13-yards before the big play happened.

Murray launched a deep pass to McBride for 33-yards to the ATL 9.

Smartly, Conner would gain 6 yards and slide to run down the clock soon after.

Murray kneeled to get the 4th down and the hero yet again, Matt Prater, kicked the game-winning field for a Cardinals 25-23 victory.

Getting the win, Arizona snapped a six-game winless streak and improved to 2-8.

Following the result, the “Bird Gang” let out all their emotions.

Next on deck, the Cardinals travel to Houston to play the Texans at NRG Stadium on Nov. 19.
