Leading up to Game 3 of the NLDS, headlines buzzed with quotes from former Diamondback David Peralta, jesting about the Dodgers’ visits to Arizona feeling like home games.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Ironically, it was Peralta who found himself serenaded with boos a few hours later, as his 100-win team suffered an early postseason exit for the second consecutive year.
As reported by Bill Shaikin of the LA Times, Peralta jovially remarked, “Every time the Dodgers would come in there to play against us, it was blue. We got excited because the stadium was packed, but it was all Dodgers fans.”
Then, to add fuel to the fire, Peralta stated, “We’re going to feel,” he said, “like we’re going to play at home,” in reference to Game 3 of the NLDS.
Peralta had been part of the Diamondbacks team that was swept by the Dodgers in the 2017 NLDS. Now, after switching teams, he found himself facing a similar outcome.
Having spent the first nine years of his career with the Diamondbacks and earning a spot as a fan favorite, Peralta’s return this postseason was anything but warm.
Of all Dodgers hitters, David Peralta might be drawing louder boos than anyone.
In an LA Times story that was published today, Peralta said that this would feel like a home game for the Dodgers.

Instead, he may forever be greeted with a resounding chorus of boos whenever he steps into Chase Field.
