Ahead of their three-game series, Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts gave some high praise to the Arizona Diamondbacks, who have surprised many this season.

Roberts specifically extended commendation to two veterans, outfielder Christian Walker and second baseman Ketel Marte.
Both of whom have been incredible leaders on the field and in the clubhouse this season for the Diamondbacks.
While the Dodgers have firmly dominated the NL West for about the past decade, the emergence of the D-backs is posing a credible challenge to their reign.
In a noteworthy turn, the Diamondbacks find themselves in a position to secure a season series win against the Dodgers for the first time since 2018. Over the course of the last four seasons, the D-Backs have held a 18-49 record against their rivals from Los Angeles.
And in another promising development, the Diamondbacks are currently on track to clinch their first playoff berth since 2017.
To potentially secure the season series victory, the Diamondbacks are aiming for back-to-back wins, starting with Merrill Kelly on the mound at Dodgers Stadium tonight.
