Highlighted by Nightengale, Mets’ owner Steve Cohen swiftly stepped forward to support Tommy Pham once the details of the incident came to light.
MLB is investigating cyber-hate messages directed towards the 13-year-old nephew of Arizona #Dbacks OF Tommy Pham.

Despite Tommy having only played a half season with the Mets, Cohen had plenty of nice things to say about the veteran outfielder, stating in a tweet:
“I will clear up any misperception about Tommy Pham. He was a great guy and a terrific teammate. He played his heart out as a Met.”
Torey Lovullo, Pham’s current manager on the Diamondbacks, echoed a similar sentiment.
“Tommy Pham has been a tremendous teammate and intense competitor and has raised our standards here since he got here.”
The situation escalated further on Monday as Pham posted a message expressing concern about recent comments on his nephew’s Instagram account.
