They scored a whopping 45 points in the first quarter. A feat that has never been done before in the WNBA before last night.

That buzzer-beater by Moriah Jefferson was just a microcosm of how things were going for them in the quarter and it carried over for the remainder of the game for the Mercury.

After the game, interim head coach Nikki Blue talked to the media about the historic mark that both teams had on Friday night.

Don’t look now, but the Phoenix Mercury have won back-to-back games and are only 3.5 games back from the 8th seed with a little over a month to go for the remainder of the season.
