While it is no secret that the Diamondbacks are home to one of the best farm systems in baseball, starting pitcher Yu-Min Lin is a name that has gone unnoticed this season.

But, Yu-Min Lin has recently flipped a switch, entering a whole new level of unhittableness down in High-A with the Hillsboro Hops.
Diamondbacks LHP prospect Yu-Min Lin has been incredible in his last five High-A starts.
28 IP, 0.96 ERA, 39 K%, 9.4 BB%
Fastball only sits 89-91 mph, but the changeup is easily plus his curveball and slider average more than 3000 RPMs. Still 19 years old.

Lin’s fastball may not blow by a batter, but his changeup and curveballs combine to produce an extremely high strikeout rate.
In his start on June 3rd, he threw five innings of one-hit ball, displaying their deadly strikeout ability. With only 74 pitches, Lin struck out 13 of the first 17 batters.
At only 19 years old, Yu-Min Lin may emerge as a critical player in the Diamondbacks decision-making process heading into the upcoming trade deadline.
On one hand, Lin is an excellent speculative play that the D-backs could use to grab an already developed arm that they can use right away.
And on the other hand, Lin could very well be a crucial arm in the Diamondbacks starting rotation as they continue to try to find the right five for the job.
