Los Angeles OL Champ Westbrooks commits to ASU

ASU has seen a bump in its rankings after its big week. Here is how their 2024 recruiting class is ranked by different sites now:

Rivals has ASU’s class ranked the highest at No. 33 overall and No. 4 in the Pac-12 with Oregon, Stanford and USC ahead of them. According to On3, Arizona State’s recruiting class is the 52nd best in the country and fourth in the Pac-12 behind Oregon, Stanford and Colorado. On 247 Sports, the Sun Devils are ranked No. 50 overall and fifth in the Pac-12 behind Oregon, Stanford, USC and Colorado.

Local DL Ramar Williams (Eastmark High School) commits to ASU

The Sun Devil’s 11 recruits in order of ranking according to the 247 Sports composite are:

  1. Elijah Baesa, a three-star WR from Mesquite HS in Texas listed at 5-foot-11, 170 pounds
  2. Tony-Louis Nkuba, a three-star CB from Lewisville HS in Texas listed at 6-foot,  170 pounds
  3. Dylan Tapley, a three-star ATH from Scottsdale (Desert Mountain) listed at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds
  4. Zechariah Sample, a three-star WR from Katy Jordan HS in Fulshear, Texas listed at 5-foot-9, 160 pounds
  5. Albert Smith, a three-star LB from Ponchatoula HS in Louisiana listed at 6-foot-1, 205 pounds
  6. Champ Westbrooks, a three-star OL from Loyal HS in Los Angeles listed at 6-foot-4, 265 pounds
  7. Cullen Charles, a three-star WR from St. Martinville, Louisiana listed at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds

  9. James Giggey, a DL from from Bradshaw Mountain HS in Prescott listed at 6-foot-3, 245 pounds
  10. Kanyon Floyd, a K/P from Horizon HS in Scottsdale listed at 6-foot, 165 pounds
  11. Ramar Williams, a DL from Eastmark HS in Mesa listed at 6-foot-4, 255 pounds

Notice a pattern in the rankings? There are a lot of recruits from Texas, which wide receiver coach Ra’Shaad Samples and defensive back coach Bryan Carrington work hard to recruit, Louisiana and most importantly Arizona, as first-year coach Kenny Dillingham is already looking to establish ASU as the top destination for local recruits.

ASU football welcomes several official visitors this weekend (June 16-18), who are they?

Despite only being a full staff since early December, ASU’s coaches are recruiting and reloading every chance they get. With already 11 recruits for the 2024 season, the Sun Devils will have 20 incoming freshmen and could have over 30 new transfers that make up this year’s team, highlighted recently by the addition of Tennessee LB Juwan Mitchell.
