Tapley is listed at 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds and is known for having great hands as a wide receiver and defensive back. In his past two varsity seasons for Desert Mountain, Tapley recorded 1,850 receiving yards and 25 TDs. He also hauled in 16 interceptions.

Tapley told 247 Sports that he wants start a “domino effect” of Arizona recruits that come to play for Dillingham and ASU. He said he wants to “want to be here with (Dillingham) to change the culture” and thinks that his 2024 class will be filled with Arizona players, as he has bought into Dillingham’s mantra to “activate the Valley.”

Tapley has already started his recruiting of Arizona players to join him on the Sun Devils, tweeting at high school teammate Dillon Hipp, “Need you to be a sun devil.”  Hipp is a three-star TE/DE and is listed at 6-foot-6 240 pounds.

Two days ago, the Sun Devils got a commitment from a 2023 local recruit. As of now, Tapley is the third 2024 commit for the Sun Devils and first from the Valley, as he looks to start a trend of Arizona high school prospects committing to the Sun Devils.
