Defensive lineman Ramar Williams of Eastmark High School (Mesa) announced on social media today that he is committing to Arizona State, the Sun Devils’ second commitment of the day.

According to his Twitter page, Williams had 71 tackles, 14 tackles-for-loss, 6.5 sacks and 18 QB hits last season for the Firebirds. He helped lead Eastmark on the defensive side of the ball all the way to a 3A state championship. See his highlights below:

The 6-foot-4, 245-pound Williams brings to the table exactly what coach Kenny Dillingham wants, a local prospect staying home to play for ASU. He was recruited primarily by defensive line coach Vince Amey and stood out at the Sun Devils’ camps and big man competition.

Williams is on his official visit to ASU this weekend. He also took a visit to Colorado in April. He told Sports360AZ that he chose ASU because they were the first program to believe in him.

The Sun Devils now have 11 players committed for the class of 2024 and have had five since last Saturday: Louisiana WR Cullen Charles, Texas DL Mason Fleming, Prescott DL James Giggey, California OL Champ Westbrooks and now Williams.
