The Arizona Cardinals held their first minicamp practice on Tuesday. Budda Baker, who requested a trade earlier this offseason, was present, but did not participate in any of the drills.

When asked about the situation, Cardinals HC Jonathan Gannon responded cheerfully, almost as if negotiations between the two had improved.

Gannon noted that Budda Baker will likely not touch the field this week as the Pro Bowl CB is working through “the business side of things.”.

Cardinals LB Dennis Gardeck also commented on the ongoing situation via Bo Brack:

“I think if there’s one guy you don’t need to worry about not being on the practice field, it’s Budda Baker.”

Budda Baker has played with the Cardinals in all six seasons of his young career, and he has attended the Pro Bowl in four of those seasons.

However, with a brand new coaching staff and general manager, Baker has shifted his focus to finding a new home. One that can set him up for a possible championship.

Stay tuned for further updates as the two parties continue to try to work out a deal.
