Ryne Nelson was excellent on the mound. After entering the game with an ERA close to 5.5, the 25-year-old shoved six innings of one run baseball, allowing just three hits.

From start to finish, the Diamondbacks answered back quickly to any runs from the Phillies. The D-backs have not trailed in a single inning all series.

They initially jumped out to an early lead with a two-run bomb from Gabriel Moreno, the home run came with two outs in the second inning.

The D-backs then led 3-1 for the majority of the night before a two-run seventh inning from the Phillies that tied the game at 3.

Corbin Carroll broke out of his recent slump with three hits on the night. After striking out in the 2nd inning, the rookie roped two doubles and drove in the go-ahead run with a base knock in the 8th inning.

Following this go-ahead base hit, the Phillies threatened to tie the game back up in the bottom of the ninth. But, with two runners on base, and Kyle Schwarber up to bat, Dominic Fletcher made the play of the game with a run-saving diving catch in center field.

The Diamondbacks are now nine games above .500, their best record of the season. They have won eight out of their last ten and are just a game behind the Dodgers for first place in the NL West.

It will be Zac Gallen on the mound to close out the series/road trip for the D-backs. Gallen currently leads the National League with six wins on the year. First pitch is scheduled for 10:05 AM.
