This will be Carroll’s third career selection in four seasons and his first consecutive All-Star honor as he continues to cement his place among baseball’s brightest young stars. For Rodriguez, meanwhile, it will be his first trip to the Midsummer Classic in his 11-year career after one of the biggest bounce-back seasons in baseball this year.
These honors often reflect outstanding individual performances, but they also showcase just how important both players have been in keeping Arizona within reach of the National League Wild Card race despite inconsistency and injuries throughout the first half of the season.
No player has showcased that more than Carroll.

The outfielder has continued to be the catalyst atop the D-Backs’ lineup, combining speed, power and defense. Despite missing most of spring training after undergoing surgery to repair a fractured hamate bone, the 25-year-old hasn’t missed a beat. He recently became the franchise’s all-time leader in triples with 53 and leads the majors with 10 this season. Carroll has continued to show why he’s one of the National League’s most productive outfielders, further cementing himself as the face of the franchise.

Rodriguez’s selection is just as meaningful, especially after a turbulent first two seasons since signing with the Diamondbacks ahead of the 2024 season. After injuries that season and an uneven 2025 campaign, the veteran has put together the best stretch of his Arizona tenure, emerging as the ace of the starting rotation. Through 17 starts, Rodriguez owns a 2.21 ERA — the fourth-best ERA in the majors — while providing much-needed stability for a group that has taken several hits throughout the year.
The Arizona southpaw also surpassed 100 career wins earlier this season, becoming just the ninth Venezuelan-born pitcher to reach the milestone.

The Diamondbacks have spent much of 2026 navigating a crowded Wild Card picture, with inconsistency and injuries creating peaks and valleys throughout the year. Carroll’s dynamic offense and Rodriguez’s consistency every fifth day have been two of the biggest reasons Arizona has remained firmly in the postseason conversation.
The honors reflect the two players who have helped keep the club in contention and whom Arizona will continue to rely on as it pushes toward October.
