This doesn’t say anything fully yet, but all likelihood is that this could be a step in the right direction of Hopkins not wanting to leave the Cardinals anytime soon.
It’s been known that Hopkins and general manager Monti Ossenfort have remained in contact since he came aboard and it seems like with the draft being over, Hopkins will be sticking around for at least another year.
Back on April 21st, Ossenfort said he and Hopkins have had productive conversations and that he’s just going to keep those between them, and now shortly after the draft, Ossenfort said that Hopkins is a Cardinal and they’re moving forward.
“He’s been great,” Ossenfort said on April 21. “Good discussions back and forth as it pertains to his situation. I’m going to keep those discussions between us … but he’s been proven to be a good player in this league and he’s obviously a very talented player.
I know Cardinals fans must be thrilled with the news that Hopkins is most likely returning to the team as it’s looking more and more clear what the plans for the Cardinals are going into the 2023 season.
