Last weekend, Cardinals’ WR DeAndre Hopkins was visiting Dallas and met up with former Cowboys’ legend Dez Bryant.

Not much information was released regarding the conversations held, however, Hopkins did join in on Bryant’s Instagram Live to share a message with fans around Dallas.

“I keep hearing y’all say my name around here. What’s up? Talk to me.”

The Cowboys are one of many teams that are in need of a star wide receiver to boost their offense. While they do have CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys have a depth problem at WR with Michael Gallup and Noah Brown as their secondary options.

This message on IG Live adds more fuel to the fire after Hopkins posted a “farewell” message to his Instagram account following the Cardinals’ final week of play.

Additionally, due to his violation of the NFL PED protocol, which led to a six-week suspension, the no-trade clause included in his contract has been officially voided.

If the Cardinals did decide to trade him away this offseason, they would clear up $14.915 million in cap space but would also incur $7.75 million in dead money.

The Cardinals have the league’s top-five worst defense from a yards and points allowed perspective. Granted, injuries have been a problem, but there is no question that they are in desperate need of additional help on the defensive end.

If Arizona were to trade away D-Hop, one would imagine they could receive some pretty attractive draft picks or a couple of young defensive weapons.

At 30 years old, Hopkins is the 14th oldest receiver in the league, and he knows more than anyone that his production is bound to dwindle.

Stay tuned for more updates.
