Christian Walker, first baseman for the Arizona Diamondbacks, was awarded a Golden Glove after his outstanding defensive performance during the 2022 season. Christian became the first D-backs first baseman since Paul Goldschmit to win this award.
Walker went from playing five straight years in the minor leagues to becoming one of the best first basemen’s in the MLB. This year, along with the incredible defensive performance, he slashed for 141 hits, 36 homers, and 94 RBIs.
The Diamondbacks recognized Walker on their Twitter page this afternoon.
Forever golden.

However, Christian wants to make sure that everyone knows he is not done improving yet.
“Awards aside, I’ve always felt like I was a better defender than the label that was on me…I still have a ton of room to grow, and I don’t think I’m the defender that I’m going to be.”
The veteran leadership that Walker brings cannot be ignored. Mix that in with the D-backs’ young core, and this team should be a load of fun to watch next season.
