Drey Jameson: Astounding

Rookie Drey Jameson was called up for his first Major League Start today against the San Diego Padres. Which could be the scariest lineup in the league to face, and for him to come out and pitch the way he did had me at a lost for words. After picking my jaw up off the floor I said to myself; Drey Jameson, astounding!

Drey Jameson Statistics:

After his first outing on the mound in a big league ball park, Jameson looked fantastic. He pitched 7 complete innings, striking out 5, walking 1, and giving up 0 runs on 2 hits.

For any pitcher to give up 0 runs is impressive. For any pitcher to pitch 7 complete innings is magnificent. To only give up 2 hits and strike out 5 in your Major League Baseball debut is spectacular.

Yet he did all of this against the a juggernaut lineup in the San Diego Padres; astounding.

What and Who did Drey Jameson Shut Down?

The San Diego Padres have a lineup that features some of the biggest names, bats, and contracts in the Majors. The likes of Manny Machado and Juan Soto alone are frightening.

Add in names like Josh Bell, Brandon Drury, Jurickson Profar, and Jake Croneworth and what he did is almost unheard of.

All-Star starters that have established themselves at top tier pitchers do not do those kind of things to this lineup.

How Did Jameson Look?

Drey Jameson took the mound with a presence that he belonged. He had a stance that Diamondbacks fans will get used to seeing and fall in love with.

He is the third pitcher called up since August 1st for the Arizona Diamondbacks. All three of these young studs look phenomenal and should be a 3 headed monster for years to come in this rotation.

Tommy Henry and Ryne Nelson were absolutely lights out in their few games since being called up. Now we can add another name to the list, Drey Jameson.

Diamondbacks Win 4-0

Behind three solo home runs from Ketel Marte, Emmanuel Rivera, and Carson Kelly and a RBI single from Christian Walker. The Diamondbacks take the first game of this 4 game series.

Jake McCarthy hit two singles on the night as the D-Backs completely took control of this game on the diamond. Stone Garrett was the runner who scored on the Kelly RBI single after being hit by a pitch in the 8th inning.

That run was just the icing on the cake. Tonight was beautiful to watch the future of Arizona Diamondbacks baseball be on full display.
