A new day means new roster moves for the Arizona Cardinals. The team announced Friday afternoon that they have released TE Deon Yelder and re-signed offensive lineman Greg Long.
Releasing Deon Yelder does not come as a surprise considering the Cards did just sign TE Josh Hokit to help out during the preseason. This is while Arizona continues to rest veteran Zach Ertz and Maxx Williams who is still recovering from an injury.
Regarding Greg Long, this will not be his first rodeo with Arizona. Greg was most recently cut from the team on Sunday, August 14th. This move was needed to bring the Cardinals rosters down to the 85-man deadline.
Long initially played four years at UTEP before moving to Purdue for two seasons. The 25-year-old is now entering his rookie season in the NFL.
