Arizona is on a four-game win streak coming into Friday’s matchup. The Diamondbacks will be looking to keep up their momentum after a miraculous comeback yesterday in the ninth inning in Atlanta. It was a total team effort that Arizona can build off of, as those moments could be galvanizing for a franchise that is looking for any help they can get right now.

The Reds have currently lost the last four out of six games and are fourth in the NL Central with a 30-33 record. The D-Backs got back to .500 after yesterday’s historical comeback and are still fourth in the NL West and 6.5 games behind of the division lead.
Friday’s mound matchups:
Eduardo Rodriguez will be on the mound for the Arizona Diamondbacks today. He makes his return after a stint on the injured list, when he dealt with right shoulder inflammation. Rodriguez’s last outing came on May 14 in San Francisco against the Giants, where he pitched four innings and gave up four earned runs on five hits in four innings pitched. E-Rod has a 1-3 record alongside a 7.05 ERA so far in 2025.

The Cincinnati Reds will be starting Nick Lodolo to kick off the weekend against Arizona. Lodolo has a 4-4 record, along with a 3.10 ERA. In his last outing against the Chicago Cubs, he didn’t allow any runs on five hits in six innings pitched.

It would be a welcome sight if Eduardo Rodriguez could show signs of life coming back off an injury and regain some confidence against a Cincinnati ball club that isn’t too threatening. The hope of him getting back on track as the summer months come in might not be too much of an ask. First pitch at the Great American Ball Park will be at 4:10 p.m. PT.
Eduardo Rodriguez pitched a rehab start in complex tonight for @Dbacks . He went 4.2 gave up 4 ER off 3 HR and a balk to drive one in, but also struck out 9 with a filthy changeup.
