Another insane statistic came out of Thursday’s win, as Arizona had a 0.1% win probability in the top of the ninth inning. This just goes to show that nothing is too insurmountable for this, “Answer-backs”, ball club. The last time the MLB saw a ball club have six runs or more in the ninth inning was back in 2022.
Never. Give. Up. The @Dbacks had a 0.1% win probability in the top of the 9th ???? https://t.co/0C7Vbv2CWw pic.twitter.com/MLx5nRYMo5

The Snakes were down 10-4 with one out in the top of the ninth inning when the rally started. Arizona had a pair of homers from Lourdes Gurriel and Alek Thomas, that brought the score to 10-7. As the D-backs came closer into striking distance, the Braves brought in closer Raisel Igelsias to come in to replace Scott Blewett.

When the D-Backs stars get hot, they are able to conquer anything. Iglesias gave up a double to Corbin Carroll, and soon after Ketel Marte was able to hit a single to not only score Jose Hererra, but was deep enough to the shortstop that he was safe at first as well. After a Geraldo Perdomo pop up, Arizona had two outs for pinch hitter Ildemaro Vargas.

Vargas made the most of his opportunity, as he hit a single to center that scored Corbin Carroll, which brought up Eugenio Suárez came up and took the moment and ran with it as he hit a double down the line that scored Marte and Vargas and gave Arizona the lead and the eventual win by a score of 11-10.

It was one of the most remarkable and impressive comebacks in D-Backs history, and it came at the right time. This could be galvanizing for this ball club after a stretch of bad play in winnable games the last couple of weeks.
Colossal comeback for the ages as D-Backs solidify sweep over Braves
