For the second straight week, the NFL Network‘s continued rankings of “The Top 100 Players of 2024” have been released and former Perry High School quarterback Brock Purdy is No. 28 after making it to Super Bowl LVIII with the San Francisco 49ers last season.

In just his second NFL season, the Queen Creek native led the NFC West champions to a 12-4 record and narrowly lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, 25-22 in overtime. During the year in which he became a Pro Bowler, Purdy started in all 16 games he played in, completing 308-of-444 (69.4%) of his passes which racked up 4,280 yards and 31 touchdowns.

Purdy led the league in multiple statistical categories like touchdown percentage (7.0%), yards gained per attempt (9.6), yards per completion (13.9), QBR (72.8) and passer rating (113.0).

He started in three of his four years at Perry, was named Gatorade’s Football Player of the Year and led the Pumas to a 27-13 overall record. As a three-star recruit, Purdy went to Iowa State University before becoming the 262nd and last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, dawning the nickname “Mr. Irrelevant.”

From growing up in Arizona to not being a four or five-star recruit out of high school to being the final selection in his draft class, Purdy’s unconventional career path has shaped him into the rising star he is today and will look to build on his strong 2023 season going into this year.

Up until Wednesday, the top 90 players in the NFL will be revealed before the top 10 is announced on Friday. “The Top 100 Players of 2024: No. 100-11” is set to be broadcast on NFL Network on Wednesday at 5 p.m. PT. The same will go for the No. 10-1 but on Friday.

The votes were strictly made by current players in the league who casted a ballot for these rankings.
