Mercury superstar Brittney Griner was the first person to be cut after she posted a 46.3 time, the slowest time by over 10 seconds.
Newly acquired Connecticut Sun Marina Mabrey finished in 35.7 seconds in her first appearance where she wore a Sun jersey since being traded on Wednesday. Mabrey and a 2025 second-round pick were dealt by the Chicago Sky to the Sun in exchange for Rachel Banham and former Mercury Moriah Jefferson, a 2025 first-round pick and the rights to swap 2026 first-round picks.
Unfortunately for Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell, she ran out of time in the first round after originally filling in for her absent teammate Erica Wheeler who ran into flight issues prior to the event.
Making up for her early struggles, Cunningham went last in the first round and after missing all three 3-point attempts, she made a layup at 35.5 seconds, knocking out Mabrey by just 0.2 seconds.
With a chance to win a trophy in front of the home crowd in Phoenix who cheered for her before she even started the championship, Cunningham ended with a 34.5 before Gray sped to the win.
By taking home the skills competition crown, Gray earned a $55,000 bonus from Aflac and a $2,575 bonus from the league.
