BOULDER – When Deion Sanders gives credit where it’s due, he means it. Recently, Coach Prime gave his flowers to ASU WR Jordyn Tyson after a private meeting between the two.

When Tyson walked into Sanders’ private room and apologized, he expected correction, maybe even confrontation. Instead, he got something far more powerful. Sanders looked at him and said, “I love you, I appreciate you, and hope you’re a top 5 pick.” Coach Prime then reminisced with a smile on his face, thinking about his youth and how it related to Tyson’s.

Deion Sanders talks about his meeting with ASU WR Jordyn Tyson:
“Jordyn Tyson found his way to my dressing room at the conclusion of the game. Jordyn Tyson came in there to say, ‘coach, I apologize.”

Sanders’ reaction wasn’t a soundbite. It was a strategy. Great coaches don’t just manage players; they manage belief. In an era where transfer portals spin constantly, and confidence can swing careers, Sanders understood exactly what Tyson needed, which was some grounding words from one of the best to ever do it.

The emotional depth of that moment matters for ASU fans because Tyson has battled injuries, expectations, and the pressure of proving himself at every stop. For a player fighting for consistency, to have a Hall of Fame legend dismiss the idea of apologizing and instead reinforce his potential is transformative. Sanders wasn’t just encouraging Tyson; he was giving him a newfound confidence. His talent is real, and Tyson’s future belongs in the NFL’s brightest tier. Moments like this could shape a career down the road.
