Phoenix’s Kiana Williams and Natasha Mack spoke to the media on Wednesday afternoon about their All-Star teammates and the work they’ve done to this point.

“It’s just a credit to the work [Sabally and Thomas have] done in the first half of the season… Hopefully they go out there, have fun and stay healthy,” Williams said. “Because they have a big stretch in the second half going into the playoffs.”

Mack believes that Thomas is continuously overlooked after not being named as a starter, expressing how the All-Star has been huge for the Mercury this season.

“People gotta stop disrespecting [Thomas] for real,” said Mack. “Like that’s MVP. Y’all think [an] MVP is just shooting threes? No, it’s helping your team get better and she does that every single way.”

Overall, Mack is still excited to get to see her teammates represent Phoenix and root for both.

“I’m so happy that she gets to play the game, [Sabally] too,” Mack said. “You know, get to cheer for both teams for them, so I’m happy.”

Sabally announced later that day that she would not participate in the All-Star game on Saturday due to a lingering ankle injury. However, Thomas is still slated to participate in the mid-season game.

The All-Stars arrived in Indianapolis on Thursday and participated in the All-Star Orange Carpet festivities to kick off the All-Star break.

The WNBA All-Star game is set for Saturday, July 19 at 5:30 p.m.
