INDIANAPOLIS — A 43-point game from Devin Booker not only moved him up the NBA’s all-time scoring list, but also sparked questions about just how high the Phoenix Suns guard can climb.

Booker’s 43 points came Thursday in a 123-108 win over the Indiana Pacers, extending the Suns’ winning streak to four games and continuing a strong scoring stretch for the All-Star.

The outing moved Booker past Hall of Famer Magic Johnson on the NBA’s career scoring leaderboard, pushing him to 89th all-time — a notable achievement for a player still in his prime.

The milestone has also sparked debate about where Booker might ultimately land when his career ends. Some see the climb as evidence that Booker is quietly building a historically significant scoring résumé. But where could the All-Star’s trajectory place him once it’s all said and done?

Some fans believe he could eventually reach the top 10 in career scoring. At just 29 years old, Booker already owns the Suns’ franchise scoring record and continues to add to a career total that has steadily climbed toward the league’s upper tier. He is averaging nearly 25 points per game this season and has averaged more than 30 over his last five games — helping fuel Phoenix’s push in the Western Conference standings.

Longevity remains a key factor in the discussion. In his 11th year in the league, Booker shows no signs of slowing down. However, injuries have interrupted parts of his career, including this season, when multiple lower-body injuries have sidelined him for stretches of more than a week.

For now, the Phoenix guard sits just 54 points behind Bailey Howell for 88th place all-time. Booker has averaged about 1,600 points per season in his career, leaving plenty of time to continue climbing the rankings if he maintains his current pace and stays healthy.

A top-10 finish — as some fans suggest — would require significantly more time and production. Few players in today’s NBA reach 20-plus seasons, like Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, who holds the league’s all-time scoring record in 23 seasons.

Still, Thursday’s performance — and Booker’s recent stretch — suggests that when he finds his rhythm, he can be nearly impossible to stop.

And if that continues, his climb up the scoring list may be far from over.
