TORONTO – When Jalen Green first returned from the longest injury absence of his NBA career, the rhythm wasn’t there, timing looked off, and the bursts were inconsistent. For a player whose game relies on speed and confidence, the early returns were rough. Although the last four games have revealed something important, the version of Green the Phoenix Suns envisioned is starting to reappear.

Across that stretch, Green has attacked the rim efficiently while mixing scoring with playmaking and defensive activity. His 36-point explosion last night against the Indiana Pacers, paired with four assists and four steals, was the kind of complete performance that shifts momentum for an entire offense. More importantly, the chemistry between Devin Booker and the team is beginning to show real signs of life.

In Thursday night’s win, Booker and Green functioned as a true two-man engine and put up a combined 79 points. Booker controlled tempo, bending defenses with patience, while Green applied pressure downhill and in transition. The result forced defenses into uncomfortable choices: trap Booker and Green attacks the gap, or stay put and watch Booker operate.

For Suns fans, that partnership matters more than any single stat line. With Dillon Brooks sidelined by a broken left hand, the Suns’ offensive hierarchy has shifted. Booker remains the centerpiece, but Green has effectively become the next scoring command option. His ability to maintain this aggressive efficiency could stabilize Phoenix during one of the tightest playoff races in the West.

If Green continues producing at this level, Phoenix doesn’t just survive this stretch; it becomes significantly harder to defend. Because when Booker and Green are both rolling, the Suns suddenly have two problems for every defense to solve. That’s the difference between chasing the playoffs and controlling your path to them.
