Diamondbacks left‑handed pitcher Eduardo Rodríguez is set to suit up for Team Venezuela, according to BeisbolPlay’s Víctor Boccone G. The announcement adds a major boost of arms to Venezuela’s pitching staff, with other veterans such as Pablo López, Germán Márquez, Antonio Senzatela and Keyder Montero expected to play as well.
Rodríguez, who has spent the last two seasons in the desert, brings expertise to the squad that will take on the Dominican Republic, Israel, the Netherlands and Nicaragua in Pool D in Miami. The team will look to clinch its first tournament win, hoping to count on Rodríguez’s playoff experience to help lead them.
The left-hander has previously played in the tournament, making a brief appearance in 2023.

The inclusion not only helps Team Venezuela but also preps an Arizona arm for the upcoming season. With the Diamondbacks’ pitching staff still being worked through after a challenging 2025 season, it’s important to get pitchers ready for another grueling year.
Rodríguez, who will continue to be eyed as an important piece of the starting rotation, can not only represent his home but also prepare for when he eventually makes his way back to the Snakes.

The left‑handed pitcher won’t be the only Diamondback in the tournament, as Corbin Carroll is expected to represent Team USA and Ketel Marte and Geraldo Perdomo suiting up for Team Dominican Republic — meaning they may face their current teammate sometime in pool play.
Arizona’s clubhouse presence will stretch across the World Baseball Classic, and for Diamondbacks fans, there’s a chance they could see matchups between their favorite players on the international stage.
