GLENDALE – Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride caps off his historic 2025 season with another record being broken. Entering Week 18, the two-time Pro Bowler was only 31 yards away from surpassing Pro Football Hall of Famer tight end Jackie Smith for the most receiving yards by a tight end in a single season. After two catches for 12 yards, McBride exploded for a massive 28-yard gain in the second quarter, with a hurdle to secure his name in franchise history.

McBride makes Cardinals history:
The 26-year-old already has the most catches in a single-season by any Cardinals player, and the most receptions by a tight end in NFL history. McBride was in striking distance for the most catches by a player this 2025 season, but Los Angeles Rams Puka Nacua’s monster performance on Sunday secured his spot as the reception leader.

McBride is in line to earn first-team All-Pro honors following his historic fourth season. The former third-round pick is the second-highest paid tight end in the NFL, and still might be underpaid with his production this season. Despite Arizona’s struggles this season, McBride has been one of the few bright spots to give hope to fans across the Valley.
