GLENDALE – Another massive injury blow for the Arizona Cardinals that looks to be serious. Defensive back Garrett Williams went down in Sunday’s Week 16 game vs. the Atlanta Flacons via a non-contact injury. Near the middle of the first quarter, Williams was guarding Falcons wide receiver Davis Sills V on an out route when he suffered the injury on his left foot that has the fear of being a possible Achilles.

Williams injury video vs. Falcons:
Besides Arizona’s injury history, with Max Melton and Darren Hall missing Sunday’s game, Williams has an extensive injury report. The former third-round pick tore his ACL in college at Syracuse in 2022. Then, in Week 2 of this season, Williams had a huge missed injury where cornerback Will Johnson slammed into Williams’ knee that looked to be season-ending.

However, Williams was just placed on injury reserve and would return seven weeks later vs. the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. The third-year Cardinals cornerback would play in seven straight games entering Week 16, where he suffered this non-contact injury.
If the worse is assumed, an Achilles tear could be a year-long recovery. With how late the injury happen in the 2025 season, Williams could miss a significant amount of the 2026 season, which would be a massive blow for Arizona.
