CBS analyst Mike Renner projected the wide receiver as the No. 8 overall pick by the Cleveland Browns in his 2026 mock draft, citing the receiver’s catching ability as a need for the team.
If realized, Tyson would become the highest-drafted Sun Devil since 2003 when Terrell Suggs was the 10th overall pick by the Baltimore Ravens.

Tyson’s production in the desert has drawn attention not only in the Valley but nationwide. His breakout season began in 2024, when he had 75 receptions for 1,101 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns during the regular season. Despite missing the Big 12 Championship game and the Peach Bowl, his regular-season performance helped lead the Sun Devils to new heights.
This season hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down, as Tyson has 57 receptions for 628 yards and eight receiving touchdowns through seven games.

Under the guidance of former NFL wide receiver and current Arizona State coach Hines Ward, Tyson has refined his skills to become a more complete receiver. Improving his blocking ability has boosted his draft stock, and draft analysts are beginning to take notice.
Tyson’s success doesn’t only go through ASU, as he was a three-star recruit at Allen High School in Texas. His rise at Arizona State highlights the Sun Devils’ resurgence as a top football program, something fans have been hoping to see over the past several seasons.

While the Sun Devil wide receiver will be out for this weekend’s game against Houston, Arizona State will need to wait to know when he’ll be back in action, as there’s no timetable for his return.
As the season progresses, Tyson will likely continue to capture attention as he tries to maintain his trajectory and make Arizona State football history.
