LAS VEGAS – As the Phoenix Mercury get ready for Game 2 of the WNBA Finals against the Las Vegas Aces, what should be the focal point if they are looking to come out with a win and tie the series up?

One of the few things that the Mercury needs to figure out is how to attack the Aces’ zone defense. In the fourth quarter of game one, Las Vegas made all the necessary adjustments to stop what has been a team that shines in the fourth quarter. Limiting the turnovers will be a huge part that the Mercury will look to focus on and clean up, as well as how many second-chance points they give up to the Aces.

The Mercury locker room will also need to get past how game one ended and rely on their veteran leadership to get through and take at least one of the games in Las Vegas to come back home with some momentum. Making sure the energy and right decision-making are there with their stars, Kahleah Copper, Satou Sabally, and Alyssa Thomas, will be paramount to building a lead against the Aces.

Phoenix Mercury head coach Nate Tibbetts will have to make the necessary adjustments as well if he wants to keep up with Las Vegas Head Coach Becky Hammon. If the Mercury can script up a good game plan and keep their consistency alive, the Mercury will have a really good shot at winning Game 2.
