Cardinals cornerback Garrett Williams (21) breaks up a pas sin the end zone intended for Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (9) during the first quarter of their game Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
High praise and top honors were issued for Cardinals star Garrett Williams, as Pro Football Focus ranked him as the No. 1 Cornerback in Zone Coverage. Williams has been a growing piece for this Cardinals defense, though he has a high ceiling. In the 2024 season, Pro Football Focus rated Williams 6th overall with a grade of 82.0, and a coverage grade of 83.7, which was fourth best in the NFL. Williams, during this past season, had 58 total tackles, including two interceptions and a forced fumble for the Cardinals.

Shutting out the noise and not worrying about outside opinions has been a strong suit for Williams, as he has been completely left off of some top-10 lists from NFL insiders. Although when the hard work is recognized, it is a welcome sight to see it getting some appreciation.

The future for Garrett Williams with the Cardinals:
Garrett Williams will also be paired with the newest member of the Cardinals and rookie Will Johnson, a cornerback out of Michigan that Arizona drafted in the second round with the 47th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Johnson will surely be eager to learn from Garrett Williams, as they could be a dynamic cornerback duo that Arizona has been eager to get.

Only time will tell how Garrett Williams can continue to grow, although with the way the Cardinals have invested in the defense through the draft and free agency, Williams might just have more opportunities to shine.
