It was an upsetting outcome on Saturday afternoon as the Diamondbacks were defeated by the Marlins by a score of 8-7. A late-game collapse saw the Snakes end up in a loss and wind up back at .500 with a 41-41 record.

Sunday’s mound matchups:

Eduardo Rodriguez will be on the mound for the Arizona Diamondbacks today. E-Rod has a 3-5 record with a 5.40 ERA. Rodriguez had a dominant outing though in his last start as he pitched six scoreless innings against the Chicago White Sox.

The Miami Marlins will be looking to Cal Quantrill to take over on Sunday. Quantrill has a 3-7 record with a 5.56 ERA on the season. He hasn’t pitched more than five innings in his last two starts, though hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs either.

Arizona will look to drive his pitch count up early and get their bats going often. It’s been a back-and-forth series this weekend so Arizona must understand that if their offense doesn’t compete, they might be coming from behind at times again. While the Snakes are dealing with a multitude of injuries right now they’ll rely on stars like Kyle Marte and Eugenio Suárez.
