Charleston took an early lead in the first half, with Matt Myers scoring the first goal in the eighth minute. Phoenix battled back and tied things up in the 36th minute with Hope Avayevu’s equalizer. Charleston’s Arturo Rodriguez broke the tie before the end of the half with a goal in the 44th minute. The match unraveled for Rising late in the second half.

Rodriguez scored his second goal of the night in the 77th minute, with teammate Houssou Landry scoring Charleston’s fourth goal in the 88th minute. Although Rising had 11 shot attempts, only four were on target.
The match ends Phoenix’s six-game streak without a loss.
