PHOENIX – The connection that Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker has will the Valley is commendable. Since being drafted back in 2015, Booker has made Phoenix his home, surviving the lows of seasons early in his career. Regardless, he endured and the 28-year-old has made an impact on the court, bringing the Suns back to their first Finals since 1993 and becoming the franchise scoring leader this past season.

However, the four-time All-Stars impact off the court is what makes him a special person. The most recent example is having a “mid-golf ambush” by young fans and taking the time to give them an experience they’ll never forget.

Booker and fans interaction:

This isn’t the first instance of Booker making a fan’s day this offseason, with the viral clip of him stopping at a local lemonade stand. The 10-year Suns guard has always tried to give back to the community, whether its small acts of kindness with the lemonade stand or the golf meet-and-greet, or massive additions like renovating three basketball courts in Phoenix.

Booker’s Staring Five program is an initiative to fund $500,000 every year to fie nonprofit organizations in Arizona. The nonprofits range, but all of them striving to improve the lives of youth and families from across the Valley. Booker has made it clear he wants to spend his entire career with the Suns and continues to strengthen the bond he has with his fellow Arizonan.
