GILBERT — Former Perry High School standout Jalen Williams is poised to make his NBA Finals debut tonight alongside the Oklahoma City Thunder as they face the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of the series.

Williams, now in his third NBA season, has emerged as a pivotal player for the Thunder. His contributions were instrumental in Oklahoma City’s impeccable season. He earned his first All-Star selection this season, as well as being named to the All-NBA Third Team, and securing a spot on the All-Defensive Second Team.
In recognition of his achievements, Perry High School honored Williams by renaming the Main Street leading to the campus as “Jalen Williams Way.” The ceremony took place Thursday morning, celebrating the local hero’s ascent to basketball’s biggest stage.
As the Thunder aim for their first championship since relocating to Oklahoma City, Williams’ performance will be crucial. His versatility and defensive ability are expected to play a significant role in countering the Pacers’ offensive strategies.
