There is a proposed tax recapture bill that has been the talk of the town for the Arizona Diamondbacks, as it seems like everybody involved wants answers sooner rather than later.

Chase Field concerns:

The news first came out as the Head of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce, president and CEO, Danny Seiden spoke on KTAR News 92.3’s The Mike Broomhead Show:

Seiden mentioned, “Utah s being very aggressive. Oregon is being very aggressive. They’re passing legislation — you know, $800, $600 million — to pay for a new baseball stadium. That’s not anything the Diamondbacks are looking for (money-wise).

It is noted that D-backs’ HB2704 is going through the process right now and is close to being finalized. There are still some hoops that the Diamondbacks need to jump through, as they are hoping Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego will hop on board. Danny Seiden also mentioned in the interview with KTAR how she was coming around to the proposed bill:

“The city of Phoenix has thrown up some objections and is requiring some different amendments and negotiations. We’re hopeful in hearing Mayor Gallego is coming around and finding things she should sign off on.”

The Diamondbacks have been very vocal about making sure they stay in Phoenix for decades to come, and are working night and day to make sure it happens.
