It was a wild extra-innings matchup that ended in a loss last night, but the D-Backs will look to have a short memory and focus on winning the series against the Dodgers at the Chavez Ravine on Wednesday. Taking the series over the Los Angeles Dodgers would be massive for this ball club going forward confidence wise, not only because they are the reigning and defending World Series Champions, but because the Arizona Diamondbacks know that every game matters especially after last season.
Bullpen issues struck again on Tuesday night as the D-Backs will look to to avenge a heartbreaking loss in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Winning the series against the Dodgers would send a massive message to rest of the division and the National League.
Starting pitchers:
Corbin Burnes will be on the mound for Arizona tonight and will look to continue his recent streak of dominant performances. In his last two starts in the month of May, Burnes has pitched 13 innings without giving up a run on seven hits. He has settled in nicely after his move to the D-Backs as he now sports a 3-1 record with a 2.56 ERA.

The Dodgers will be starting Dustin May on Wednesday. May recently pitched against Burnes at Chase Field and gave up two earned runs on seven hits in 6.2 innings pitched. His overall 2025 season hasn’t been too kind, as his 1-4 record and 4.43 ERA would show. May’s last outing he lasted five innings but gave up four earned runs on six hits against the Angels.
