Corbin Burnes pitched a gem today. He gave up five hits but didn’t allow any earned runs over seven scoreless innings while also striking out five. His momentum on the mound propelled Arizona the rest of the way as they were able to shut out the Los Angeles by a score of 3-0.

Dodgers head coach Dave Roberts spoke about Corbin Burnes:
“Corbin, the last couple starts his velocity’s been down I think a little bit, but today he came out with his ‘A’ stuff and I think you just got to give credit to him tonight.”
Ryne Nelson entered for the D-Backs in the eighth and ninth innings. His versatility is more than important as he can be used as a middle reliever. Now it also looks like he can be used in late-game scenarios and even being used in a closing situation. If the injury bug comes back, Nelson could also be a starter if somebody goes down. He was locked down at the end of the game, as he didn’t allow a hit through two innings.

Highlight plays on Saturday:
Corbin Carroll hit a massive triple in the bottom of the third, when right after Ketel Marte hit a double that scored Carroll to get on the board. After two home runs last night for Marte, he showed that his slide when he came back was only going to be short-lived. Eugenio Suárez also had a moonshot in the sixth inning that went a whopping 455 feet and landed on the walkway in center field.
