Arizona recognized after a dominant victory over Los Angeles on Saturday night, that if their pitching comes to play, they can contend with the best of the best in the league. Sunday looms huge for the D-Backs as taking three out of four over the defending World Series champions would surely give this ball club a massive confidence boost going forward. Los Angeles is showing they are beatable as they have lost four out of their last seven games.
Projected starters for Sunday’s matchup:
Zac Gallen will look to continue his recent streak of impressive starts. His last two outings both came against the New York Mets, and Gallen ended up winning both of those matchups, showing he had their number. In those games, Gallen had a 1.38 ERA in 13 innings pitched. So far though it’s been an up-and-down kind of season for Gallen, as his 3-4 record and 4.37 ERA show.

His last outing came against the Miami Marlins, where Gonsolin pitched five innings and gave up two earned runs on four hits. Gonsolin comes into today’s game with a 1-0 record with a 4.09 ERA.
Mother’s Day celebration:
The Arizona Diamondbacks will be hosting their Mother’s Day, and will also be giving away 15,000 Mother’s Day Crossbody Bags! The Snakes will look to put on a show for all the fans and families, as winning the series over the Dodgers sure would be a stellar way to celebrate. First pitch is at 1:10 p.m. PT over at Chase Field.
