The Arizona Cardinals saw a familiar face back in the building today, as Calais Campbell returned to Arizona and spoke to the media. Campbell is more than excited to be back with the team that originally drafted him in the second round way back in 2008.

Campbell mentioned how surreal this whole moment is for him:

“Even just walking through the building, so many memories poured out of me. This is where I got my start. This is the team that believed in me and gave me an opportunity to live out my dream. And here we are all these years later and they still believe in me, are still giving me the opportunity to live out my dream. I’m one of those guys who loves this game so much. I kind of have to wake up and pinch myself, like is this real? I still get to play football.”

The Arizona Cardinals signed Campbell to a one year contract worth $5.5 million, with a maximum value of $7.5M. It just feels right, doesn’t it? Another veteran leader will be in this Cards locker room, and a future Cardinals Ring of Honor player will get to possibly end his career where he started. Though Campbell believes he can bring more to the table as well.

How does Campbell feel he can help the Cardinals?

“But I feel like I’m still good at it, still dominant, and I feel like I can really help this team. A lot of talent all over the place and I feel like the value I can bring is going to make a big difference — at least I hope so. So, [I’m going to] roll up my sleeves, get my hands dirty, and do the best I can.”

The Cardinals will embrace the fact as well that Campbell has been a part of all 17 games in the last two seasons. This past 2024 season for the Dolphins, he recorded 12 tackles for loss along with 5.0 sacks and 12 QB hits on the season. His availability, leadership, and playmaking abilities are keys to any successful NFL franchise, and something Arizona will be elated to have back in the desert.

What are the Arizona Cardinals’ chances of Kyzir White returning for 2025 season?
