For the Nationals, Mitchell Parker who is now with a 2-0 record, only allowed one run and two hits over six innings, while pitcher Kyle Finnegan got his second save. James Wood started things off early for the Nationals as he robbed Lourdes Gurriel Jr. of a homerun in the top of the first, then shortly after in the bottom of the same inning, Wood had a two-tun double making it a 2-0 Washington lead early. Alex Call also got two RBI’s, showing that going with a new outfield was the right idea.

For the D-Backs, Eduardo Rodriguez had 12 strikeouts, while allowing four runs on five hits in five innings. He hasn’t struck out 12 hitters since 2009 back during his time in Boston. The D-Backs, who have heavily relied on the long ball as of late, didn’t have a home run in yesterday’s game, for the first time of the 2025 season.

One of the big stories of yesterdays game was the MLB Debut of Tim Tawa. His first at-bat in the major leagues he gets a single and makes the moment his. He ended his debut with an RBI, a run scored, and a walk, as he went 1-for-3 in the Diamondbacks loss to Washington.
