ASU Cam Skattebo sued by former teammate over injuries caused by a golf cart incident

According to the Arizona Republic, process servers were unable to find Skattebo to deliver the paperwork at either of his addresses in Arizona and California. This led former offensive lineman Mattheos Katergaris’ attorney, Neul Udulutch, to serve Skattebo by publication.

“He’s been hard to pin down,” Udulutch said Monday, according to The Arizona Republic. “I have reason to believe he was in Florida preparing for the combine and then I know he was in Indy. I don’t know if he even lives in Arizona anymore. Maybe he’s bouncing around hotels. I just don’t know, so I was done chasing him.

“My hope is that he or his family will retain an attorney and help us out here, but otherwise we’ll have to go that route. It’s kind of an archaic procedure. It is definitely a last resort.”

Former teammate Katergaris has sued Skattebo for $300,000 due to a golf cart incident in July 2023. He claims Skattebo’s reckless actions resulted in a severe elbow injury that abruptly ended his football career.

Skattebo recently participated in the NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis last week, and the ongoing lawsuit could impact his draft stock. He is projected to be selected in either the third or fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, which will take place from April 24 to 26.

There have also been notable instances of players experiencing a drop in their draft stock due to various circumstances.
