NBA rumored to be considering adding new competition to All-Star weekend

NBA All-Star weekend has been a disaster for the league the last few years. The All-Star game garnered the second lowest ratings in league history, while Saturdays events were the lowest ever. NBA commissioner Adam Silver knows something has to change in a hurry if the league is going to salvage what use to be one of its premier showcase events

And he may just the answer.

The NBA is reportedly considering adding a one on one tournament. If it gets backed from the players, we may finally see some of the best players in the world playing competitive basketball again against each other. But that’s a big “if”. Most believe the biggest reason that All-Star weekend has lost its luster is because the players seemingly refuse to give any effort at all to the game. But maybe, this is just the event that could change all that.
