Devin Booker’s 34 points and historic night, passing Walter Davis for first on Phoenix Suns all-time scoring list, weren’t enough as the Suns dropped their second-straight game to the Portland Trail Blazers, 121-119.

Booker passed up and open 3-pointer so Royce O’Neale could send Phoenix to overtime. And with four seconds left, Booker missed the last of three free throws to potentially force another overtime.

Kevin Durant added 27 points, five rebounds and five assists despite a silent start. Bradley Beal backed up the Suns’ duo with 25 points.

Portland big man, and former Suns, Deandre Ayton had his best game of the season; 25 points, 20 rebounds (nine offensive) and went 7-for-8 from the free throw line. Deni Avdija added 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

Suns make huge plays to send game to overtime

Kevin Durant blocked Jerami Grant’s 3-point shot to put the Trail Blazers up four with 17 seconds remaining. Grant retrieved the ball and dunked it to put Portland up three with 14 remaining.

On the other end, Devin Booker (30 points in regulation) passed up a wide open 3-point shot to hit an open Royce O’Neale on the left wing to tie the game with 1.7 seconds left.

On a sideline out of bounds play, Bradley Beal blocked Anfernee Simons’ game-winning 3-point attempt to end regulation and send the Suns to overtime.

Booker makes Suns history 3rd quarter

With a 3-point jump shot to score his 24th point at the 7:34 mark, Devin Booker passed Walter Davis to become the Phoenix Suns’ all-time leading scorer.

Booker scored 11 points in the quarter despite Portland erupting for 37 to lead Phoenix, 86-80.

Toumani Camara scored nine points in the quarter, Scoot Henderson added seven and five other Trail Blazers notched a bucket in a dominant quarter.

Booker led all scorers with 28 points, but again didn’t get much help as Kevin Durant had only 15 and Bradley Beal 14.

O’Neale, Booker assume control in 2nd quarter

Royce O’Neale (6) and Devin Booker (5) were among the few Suns to get anything going in a rock fight of a second quarter to give Phoenix the lead at halftime, 55-49.

Booker led the Suns with 17 points (5-10 FG) in the first half, followed by Kevin Durant (10), who was quiet in the second quarter, and Bradley Beal (10) who had a good start but slowly dwindled.

Deni Avdija continued his dominance, tying the game-high in points with 17 on 7-for-9 from the field. Deandre Ayton scored six of his 12 points in the second quarter and continues his efficient outing against the Suns the last two games.

Booker starts hot, Suns catch up in 1st quarter

Devin Booker started the game on fire, scoring 12 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the field. Much like last game, Portland controlled the pace to open the game until Phoenix fought back from down 14 to tie the game 31-31.

Kevin Durant followed Booker with eight points (3-4 FG) and Bradley Beal added seven points.

Deni Avdija led the Trail Blazers to start with 11 points (5-6 FG) and was a +8 in nine minutes. Seven Blazers scored a bucket in the opening quarter. Last game Portland had seven players score in double figures.
